Truck or HGV Insurance
Well it’s been a while since we’ve posted on world most commented and this week is all about insurance, who you insure with, today were looking at HGV insurance, who the best company to go with and what is the best sort of HGV, what sort of license do you need for a HGV, well if the vehicle that you will be driving is between 3.5 and 7.5 tonnes you will need to apply for a Category C1 license, the minimum age being 18 years.
So I want to hear you thoughts on who the best to get you HGV insurance from, what’s the best HGV truck and anything else…

Different HGV companies operate in different ways. Haulage companies will need to buy specialised insurance cover designed for this kind of logistics. Again, make sure that your policy includes haulage cover. You may cover your cab only. This is great if you work for larger companies who provide their own trailers. Alternatively, policies are also available that cover both cab and trailer.

my son started a course for hgv driving with pathway. it cost 975. for the course and 299. for insurance,he was told the theory tests were unlimited-if he failed he could book another with no extra cost- then it was 100 for a Dr’s medical.well , he has failed the theory three times and now they want him to pay at 60 a time.do you think this is right?

Most insurance companies will not cover drivers under the age of 25 for HGV vehicles!
You could try anthonydevans.co.uk I think they still do HGV insurance for under 25

I have ten points on my licence but four of those points were sp50 on 08/05/05(date of offence). I wish to apply for HGV driving jobs but many employers state a maximum of 6 points for insurance purposes. Would these 4 points count? I know i cant have them removed until 08/05/09 but do insurance companies waive them after 3 years?

you need to have insurance BEFORE you drive your car. PERIOD. im sure there is a HUGE fine and some points on your record. dumb mistake, what wud you have done if you had gotten in an accident. do you have 60,000 lying around to replace the other persons car, and pay for any injuries. DO NOT DRIVE WITHOUT INSURANCE.
